Aims/objectives:
Understand the importance of debriefing in experiential learning
Experience an example of debriefing in game-based training
Gain insight into various practical aspects of debriefing
Background:
Some experience / knowledge of games and simulations in education an training would be useful, but it is not necessary.
Scenario:
The attendees will:
- Participate in a short-role play about pharmacist procedures for delivering to a patient a prescription for anticoagulation therapy.
- Participate in a debriefing session of the above role-play.
- Participant groups will then be invited to design a similar role-play and debriefing protocol in an area of
their choice.
- If there is enough time, participant groups will then test their scenarios on other groups.
More information about:
- You may use your smart phone or your laptop webcam to record your performance as a pharmacist.
- You can then use the film in the debriefing.
