Portfolios: spaces for reflection, conversations and development

Explore together the concept of digital portfolios in the context of professional development as spaces for reflection, conversations and vehicles for change and transformation

Scenario: 
In this workshop we will explore together the concept of digital portfolios in the context of professional development as spaces for reflection, conversations and vehicles for change and transformation. Participants will have the opportunity to share related practice and experiences, as well as specific tools and discuss benefits and challenges of portfolio implementation in their practice. They will also gain an insight into specific portfolio-based approaches developed in the context of cross-disciplinary initial and continuous professional development of academics and other professionals who teach or support learning in two higher education institutions in the UK using freely available social media for initial and continuous professional development of academics in different disciplines at a higher education institution in the United Kingdom.  By the end of the workshop, participants  will be encouraged to reflect on the session and identify a specific opportunity to introduce portfolios based on a sound pedagogical rationale.
